November 30, 1911 — January 10, 2008

Agusta Carol Goldey Edgcumbe, 96 passed away, Thursday morning, January 10, 2008 at her home in Fanwood.
Visitation will be held at Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield on Monday from 6-9 pm and Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:30 am at which time the funeral service will begin. Interment will be in Crest Haven Cemetery, Clifton.
Born in Jersey City to the late Martha Amelia Habert Goldey and William Howard Goldey, Mrs. Edgcumbe lived in Jersey City for 48 years before moving to Fanwood in 1960. She was a Fanwood resident for 48 years.
In earlier years she worked on Wall Street in New York City and was employed by the Marine Insurance Company. After moving to Fanwood she retired as assistant to the president of Bellows Valvair in Mountainside.
Mrs. Edgcumbe enjoyed traveling, gardening, dancing, singing and especially spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and friends.
A twin, Mrs. Edgcumbe was the youngest and last of a very close, loving and caring family of 9 children.
Carol was the light of our lives. She will always be remembered for her infinite kindness, gentleness, grace, beauty, courage and unconditional love.
Carol was the beloved wife of 73 years to the late George Robert Edgcumbe III. Carol is survived by and the loving mother of two daughters, Marilyn Grant of Rowland Heights, Cal. and Joyce Edgcumbe Kleine of Watchung. She will also be missed by and was the adored grandmother of her four grandchildren; Geoffrey Grant, George Grant, Kimberly Carol Kleine and Kirsten Kleine Karr. She was cherished by her 10 great grandchildren; Mackenzie Grant, Christopher Grant, Andrew Karr, Amanda Karr, John Karr, Oliver Grant, Kathryn Needles, Grace Needles, Avery Grant and Owen Grant and she will be missed by many nieces and nephews.
Donations in her memory may be made to the Fanwood Rescue Squad, 75 N. Martine Ave., Fanwood, NJ 07023 and would be appreciated.
