A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 15, 2009 at 11 am in the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford for Albert C. Mueller, Jr. who passed away on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Cedar Crest Village in Pompton Plains, NJ.
Mr. Mueller, 86, was born in East Orange, NJ and lived in Cranford for 56 years, beginning in 1944. In 2000 he moved to Pompton Plains.
He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the US Army.
He received an Associate's degree from Union County College, Cranford and degrees in Chemical Engineering and Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech, where he was a proud member of their "Old Guard."
Mr. Mueller held a Professional Engineer's License in New Jersey.
He was a 50 year member of the First Presbyterian Church in Cranford where he was also a past president of The Board of Trustees.
Mr. Mueller was the past president and trustee of the National Speleological Foundation, a member of the National Speleological Society, and a Fellow Emeritus of The Explorers Club.
He is pre-deceased by his wife, Margaret L. Mueller, who passed away in 2000, and by his sister, Carolyn Mueller. He is survived by his three daughters; Betsy, Cindy and Pam Mueller. He will also be deeply missed by his two granddaughters; Meg Mueller and Carolyn Gedicke and by his son-in-law, Donald Gedicke.
