Albert August Roehm, 82, of Cranford, died Tuesday August 24, 2010. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Thursday August 26, 2010 at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford (www.grayfuneralhomes.com), where funeral services will begin at 11AM Friday August 27, 2010. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. He is survived by his two daughters: Carol J. Miller and her husband Joseph M. of Middletown, NJ, Alice Seidel and her husband Robert of Shahola, PA, five grandchildren: Stephanie Seidel, Robert Seidel Jr., Kimberly Miller, Melanie Miller, Joseph A. Miller, and nephew: Paul Eppinger. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Estelle M. Roehm, his grandson: Christopher J. Miller, and his sister: Louise Eppinger. Born in North Madison, CT, Mr. Roehm was a resident of Cranford for 47 years. He began his career as a draftsman with Exxon Bayway Refinery, Linden, in 1945, and retired in 1982 as a senior staff engineer. A member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Westfield, Mr. Roehm was an avid amatuer radio operator. He was a member of the AARL Amatuer Radio Assn., the Antique Wireless Assn., and the Tri-County Radio Assn. He was a Boy Scout Master with squadron # 337, Linden from 1951-1970. Memorial donations may be made to: Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center, Edison, or to the American Diabetes Assn.
