Alice Rosaline Kopf (nee Allen) died on January 27, 2008. She was 80 years old. Visiting will be 2-4 and 7-9 pm on Friday, Feb. 1 at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford. The funeral will be on Saturday, Feb. 2 at 10 am at Cranford United Methodist Church. She was born in Philadelphia on Feb. 2, 1927 to Ed and Theresa Allen. Her mother passed away in 1933. Alice and her brother, Ed were blessed with a second mother when her father married Loretta James. The family then moved to Roselle Park where Alice graduated Roselle Park High School in 1944. She worked for the Methodist Church Board of Education and as a counselor at Blairstown Methodist Academy. After marriage in 1950 to John Kopf, she moved to Cranford. She was an extremely devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all in need. She leaves her son John Jr., daughter-in-law, Joan and 2 grandchildren, Loretta Alice and John III. She was predeceased by her husband John in 2007 and older brother, Ed Allen, Jr. in 1995. She was a devout Christian, very active her whole life in the Methodist Church in Roselle Park and, after 1950, Cranford. She was in the United Methodist Women and coordinated their shut-in program. She was a Sunday School teacher and Cub Scout Den Mother. With her late husband, she co-chaired the Church Council and the Missions Committee and they were youth leaders for the MYF. Alice and John's various missions, charity and lifelong helping of others activities are too numerous to list. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cranford United Methodist Church Alice Kopf Memorial Fund.
