Allan J. Wittnebert

Mr. Allan J. Wittnebert age 92 of New Providence passed away on Sunday, November 4, 2007 at Runnells Specialized Hospital in Berkeley Heights, NJ.
Mr. Wittnebert was born in Jersey City on November 9, 1914. He was the son of the late Frederick J. and Marietta (Duckworth) Wittnebert. He lived in Cranford for many years before moving to New Providence 53 years ago.
Mr. Wittnebert was a graduate from Newark Teachers College (now Kean University)in 1949 with a BS in Industrial Arts Education.
He was employed as a teacher by the Irvington Board of Education for 30 years ago, retiring in 1978. He was a member of the NJEA and also a veteran of the US Army, serving in World War II.
He was predeceased by his parents and also his older brother, Frederick R. Wittnebert.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian (Reiners) Wittnebert, his daughter, Mary Alice Wittnebert, his granddaughter, Michele L. Borer and his nephew, David A. Wittnebert.
Visiting will be on Thursday, November 8th from 11 am until the time of Episcopal services at 12 noon in the Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
