Angelos Glimis

Angelos Glimis, 85, of East Windsor, NJ, died Sunday, March 6, 2011. Visitation will be 6:00 - 9:00 PM, Wednesday March 9, 2011 at Gray Funeral Home, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield. Funeral service will be 11AM Thursday March 10, 2011, in Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Westfield, followed by interment in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Mr. Glimis was born to the late Alcibiades and Aspasia Glimis on April 3, 1925 in Agia Efthemia, Greece. He emigrated to the United States in 1951 and married the late Sophia Glimis on September 27, 1959. Angelos was a long-time employee of the Pantagis (Snuffy's) Restaurant in Scotch Plains, and Mario's Restaurant in Millburn. He was a longtime member and officer of the Greek fraternal organization, the Agioefthemeon "Meonia" Society. Angelos is survived by three children: Al Glimis and his wife Emily Cook of Princeton, NJ; Gus Glimis and his wife Lisa Frankfort of SanFrancisco, CA; and Joanne Thiel, and her husband Robert, of East Windsor, NJ. He is also survived by three grandchildren: Olivia Thiel, Sergei Glimis, and Robert Angelo Thiel. Memorial contributions to: The Alzheimer's Association (www.alz.org).
