Anne Frances Azzolino Fitzsimmons, 84, of Cranford, NJ, passed away peacefully Monday, April 25, 2022. She was born September 15, 1937 in Newark, NJ to the late Frank Azzolino and Jennie (née Casa Massima) Azzolino. Anne grew up in Newark and graduated from Central High School in Newark. She moved to Cranford, NJ in 1970. Anne was a key punch operator in the workman compensation department for the State of New Jersey. She was a devoted wife, sister, aunt and friend. Her life centered around family and friends that she loved. Anne and her beloved husband Thomas were married on April 4, 1970. Their 50 years together were a true love story and they loved to travel all over the United States and would go wherever the road would take them. She was a great conversationalist and such great company to be with. She would always greet you with a "Hey Kiddo" and referred to anyone who was kind as, "such a doll".
In addition to her parents, Anne is preceded in death by her beloved husband Thomas Fitzsimmons, her brother Michael Azzolino and sister Rose Azzolino. She is survived by her brother Joseph Azzolino and his wife Dolly, and sister-in-law, Joan Fitzsimmons Mullery along with many many nieces, nephews; great nieces and great nephews who she always treated as her own "kids". Anne will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Her visitation will be held at Gray's Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, NJ 07016 from 9 to 10 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 29, 2022 at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church, 40 Alden Street, Cranford, NJ 07016. Entombment will be following Mass at Hollywood Memorial Park, 1500 Stuyvesant Avenue, Union, NJ.
