Anthony was born and grew up in Simpson, PA the eldest of three children of Anthony H. and Rose (Borosky) Heffner. The family lost their father when Tony was only 13 years old. He worked hard in school and to help his mother support their home. He was a loving son and caring brother throughout his life. He attended Fell Township Senior High School, graduating in 1955. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from 1955-1959 during the Korean War.
In 1968 Tony and his brother Don purchased a home in Landing, NJ near Lake Hopatcong and moved there with their mother Rose. He worked for many years at Rowe International, a manufacturer of vending machines and juke boxes before retiring in the early 1990's.
He enjoyed fishing, golf and playing cards. He was an active member of the Shore Hills Men's Club in Landing, NJ participating in community activities there. His greatest passion was his love of Numismatics. He participated in several Coin Clubs in New Jersey through which he made great friendships and shared his extensive knowledge of the hobby. He truly loved his family and was also generous to many charitable organizations.
Anthony was predeceased by his father Anthony H Heffner in 1950, his mother Rose Borosky in 1982, His sister Virginia in 1943 and his brother Donald in 2011. He is survived by sister in law Claudia Heffner of Fanwood, NJ, A niece Tricia Patricco and her husband Anthony of Warren, NJ a nephew Richard Heffner of Germantown, MD a great nephew Anthony M Patricco also of Warren, NJ as well as many loyal and caring friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday April 12th, from 5:00-8:00PM at Gray Funeral Directors, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield, where the funeral service will begin at 10AM Thursday April 13, 2017. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
