Barbara Anthony Iaione Fashion Designer / Artist and Poet Barbara Anthony Iaione, 78, a 39 year resident of Mountainside, died suddenly on Tuesday March 8, 2011 at her residence. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 AM Monday March 14, 2011, at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford (grayfuneralhomes.com), where Visitation will be 10AM until service time on Monday. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. She was the beloved wife of the late William D. Iaione, a local builder, and construction engineer, who died recently on December 27, 2010. She was a devoted mother of two sons: Kevin A. Iaione and his wife Robin of Hackettstown, Darren J. Iaione and his wife Carol of Bernardsville, beloved grandmother of six:: Kaylin, Jonathan, Justin, Rachel, Sarah, David, and dear cousin of Kathleen Jacobsen and her husband Edwin of South Carolina. Born in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Louis and Martha Spulnek Anthony, Barbara grew up in Hackettstown, NJ, where she graduated from Hackettstown High School in 1950, and Centenary College. She received a Bachelors degree in Fashion Design from the Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, NY, and continued her education at the Tobe Coburn School of Fashion in New York City. Mrs. Iaione was a fashion buyer for the former Hahne's Department Stores, based in Newark. She and her mother started CJ Fashion which they operated in Chatham. Barbara was an artist, an illustrator, and a published poet. She will be greatly missed, and will always be in our hearts for eternity. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Salvation Army.
