Barbara Conlin Pulis, known to all as "Bobby", died peacefully on Monday morning, April 4, 2022, 14 days before her 88th birthday. She was surrounded by so much love.
Born April 18, 1934, the daughter of Alan Bruce Conlin and Ella Bray "Sis" Conlin, of Westfield, Bobby grew up and attended Westfield schools. She was a graduate of Westfield High School where she was the lead drum majorette, and later of Southern Seminary College (now Southern Virginia University).
In 1961, Bobby married her beloved husband Bud, also of Westfield, and together they enjoyed many wonderful years living in Springfield, N.J. Bobby always stayed closely connected to her hometown, and was a lifelong, faithful member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, in Westfield, baptized and married at St. Paul's, active with various groups there. Following in her mother's and sister's footsteps, Bobby was a dedicated volunteer for many years with the Children's Specialized Hospital of Mountainside, an organization dear to her heart. She later accepted a professional position with them, supporting The Children's Miracle Network. Her sense of service to others knew no limits.
Bobby grew up spending summers with her family on Raccoon Island, Lake Hopatcong, and continued to do so with Bud for the rest of their life together. She enjoyed boating on the lake and was a lifelong member of the Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club, having served as president of the Woman's Auxiliary, and active in sailing and social circles.
Bobby is predeceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Charles D. "Bud" Pulis, Jr., as well as her brother, Bruce Conlin, Jr. and sister, Peggy Norwine. She is survived by her beloved sister, Mrs. Nancy Van Dolman of Lincoln, MA, and her sister-in-law, Mrs. F. Robert Michael of Princeton, NJ, as well as her 15 nieces and nephews, who she loved and cherished, and who loved and cherished her back. She will be missed dearly.
Bobby's funeral service will be held at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 414 E. Broad Street, Westfield, NJ on Saturday April 23, 2022 at 10:00 a.m., with burial following at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in honor of Bobby Pulis to St. Paul's Episcopal Church of Westfield, The Children's Specialized Hospital in Mountainside, or The Lake Hopatcong Yacht Club Foundation.
