Betty Jean Spittler-Bubb died September 17, 2006 at the Haven Hospice at JFK Medical Center in Edison, New Jersey. She was born in Philipsburg Pennsylvania on April 27, 1924. Her family moved to Cranford New Jersey when she was only four years old. They started attending services at Cranford Alliance Church soon after, and throughout her high school years.
She then attended the missionary training institute at Nyack New York (now called Nyack College of Nyack New York). While there, she met Jack Bubb and they were married on June 5, 1948. They served in Alliance churches both in New York and New Jersey. Betty Jean also worked for Eastern Airlines and helped start up KIWI airlines.
Betty Jean was the matriarch of Cranford church and used all her energies in promoting world missions at home and abroad.
Betty Jean is survived by her husband Rev. John O. Bubb, her daughter Darla Canney, two sons, Gary and David and her granddaughter, Krystin Bubb.
The viewing will be held on Thursday, September 21st at Grays Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, NJ. Viewing hours are 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM
The funeral service will be held Friday, September 22 at the Cranford Alliance church, 7 Cherry Street, Cranford NJ at 12 noon.
