Bunny Selvig

Charlotte (Bunny) E. Selvig, 89 of Tewksbury, NJ,, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday June 7, 2011. Memorial visitation and service will be 7:00 - 8:30 PM, Thursday June 16, 2011, at Gray Funeral Home, 318 E. Broad Street, Westfield, NJ. Born and raised in Westfield, she graduated from Westfield High School, and worked for AT&T, NYC before marrying Robert Selvig in 1942. Post WWII, she devoted herself to raising their three children and enjoyed being a Cub Scout den mother and president of the PTA. Bunny also was active in the Presbyterian Church as well as the March of Dimes crusade, and volunteered regularly at Overlook Hospital. Additionally she excelled as a representative of the Ambassador Services of Westfield, welcoming newcomers to the town. Bunny enjoyed tennis, swimming, playing the organ, gardening, riding her horses and gourmet cooking. She was a role model for her children and all who met her felt the warmth of a good friend and confidante. Predeceased by her parents Ethel and Hampton Hanna and her son Robert Jr., she leaves her adoring husband Robert, two loving daughters, Kristine of Warren and Sandra of Sussex, three grandchildren, Jennifer, John and Allison, and a great grandchild, Dylan. She was universally loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation and to the American Heart Association.
