Chester S. Kalinowski, 93, of Cranford, died Sunday May 21, 2017, after a brief illness.
Chester's visitation will be Friday May 26, 2017 from 10-11:30am, at Gray Funeral Directors, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford. His graveside service with military honors will follow at 1:30PM Friday at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. Born in Worcester, MA, Chester was a graduate of Tri-State College (Trine University), in Angola, IN. He was an electrical engineer, retiring from the American Electric Power (AEP) Corp. A veteran of the US Army during World War II, Chester served in the Signal Corps and the Military Police. He was a life member and treasurer of the Cpl. George H. Keller Chapter 14 of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Clark, NJ, and was also a member of the American Legion Post in Clark. He is predeceased by his son Robert . Chester is survived by his loving wife: Mary, three daughters: Barbara Kalinowski, Joan McGee (David), Diane Standiford (Patrick), and four grandchildren: Katie, James, Kyle, and Bennett. He is also survived by two sisters and a brother.
