Donald H. Garretson

Donald H. Garretson Jr. age 80 died on Tuesday December 8, 2009 at his residence in Mountainside, NJ. Born in Staten Island, New York, he lived in Mountainside for the last 41 years. Donald earned a Masters degree from Wagner University. He worked as a Trade Consultant for the Canadian government for the last 20 years before his retirement in 1994. Before that he worked as a Trade Consultant for the United Nations. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed photography, and was an avid boater. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joan Garretson. A daughter, Caroline Wills, two sons, Donald H. 3rd, and Mark Garretson. Also survived by 7 grandchildren. Visitation will be on Thursday from 7-9 PM at the Gray Funeral Home 318 E.Broad St. in Westfield. A funeral service will be 11 AM Friday December 11, 2009 at the funeral home, and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements by Gray Funeral Home, Westfield.
