Doreen Livingstone died October 2, 2011 at Hunterdon Care Center in Flemington, NJ. She was 83. Born in Wallsend-on-Tyne, England on August 5, 1928, she was the daughter of Harry and Isabella Wilson. She came to the United States in 1959 and lived in Staten Island and Chicago before moving to Cranford, NJ in 1967 where she resided for 40 years. Her husband, Thomas, whom she married in 1949, died in 2006. Mrs. Livingstone was previously employed at the Wallsend Cooperative Society, Wallsend, England. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Cranford, a volunteer at Cranford Hall Nursing Home, a member of the Wednesday Morning Club, Cranford and the Daughters of the British Empire for several years. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. Anne Bird and her husband Donald of Birmingham, England, Mrs. Pauline Carlo and her husband Jeffrey of Flemington, NJ, Mrs. Susan Delano and her husband Peter of Bedford, NH, and Jennifer Livingstone of Toms River, NJ; eight grandsons: Robert Bird and his wife May, David Bird, Andrew Carlo, Timothy Carlo, Colin Delano, Christopher Delano, Matthew Gass, Ryan Gass, and two great-grandsons, Julian Bird and Tristan Bird. A private service was arranged by the Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Westfield. Donations may be made to a charity of choice.
