Doris June (nee Brautigam) Trumbower, 92, of Mountainside, N.J., formerly of Vauxhall, New Jersey, passed away peacefully on Dec 10, 2016, at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains.
She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Lewis Trumbower, devoted daughter of the late Lillian and Otto Brautigam, and loving mother of Heather Jan Trumbower.
Doris was born in Orange and then lived with her family in Vauxhall for 34 years. Doris and Robert married in 1958, and settled into their dream house in Mountainside in 1959.
In the early 1960s, Doris was an Executive Secretary at Hoffman Beverage Company/Pabst Brewing Company. As a young woman, she was very active in the Vauxhall Methodist Church, and enjoyed lifelong friendships with the Ypsilon Phi Sigma youth group. Doris, along with Robert and Heather, were lifelong members of the Community Presbyterian Church in Mountainside, where Doris served as an elder. Doris was also a member of the A.R.F. at the Christian United Bible Church in Cranford.
She was an avid gardener, and enjoyed traveling, photography and scrap-booking.
Surviving are her daughter Heather Trumbower of Richmond, California, second cousins, Heather's beloved Godparents family, in-laws and their friends who have been angels to her, and a host of friends.
Visitation and Life Celebration will be Wednesday December 14 4-8PM at the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield. Interment Restland Memorial Park, Thursday December 15, 9:30AM. Funeral Service will be held at The Community Presbyterian Church, 1449 Deer Path (at Meetinghouse Lane), Mountainside at 11AM Thursday December 15, 11AM.
