Dorothea Margaret Willoughby (Batt), age 91, of Port Orange, Florida, formerly of Tequesta FL, Cranford and Linden NJ, passed away May 16, 2019. She was predeceased by her husband, Sydney W. Willoughby, her parents Walter S. and Agnes M. (Phelps) Batt and brother Stanley E. Batt. She is survived by her three sons, Sydney W., Jr., Thomas J. (Carolyn) and Robert J. (Sandra), her grandchildren Mathew, Scott, Andrew (Suzy), Ashley, Jessica, TJ, Daniel, Robert Jr., Allison, Kera and Kaitlyn, her great grandson Logan and her brother Walter S. Batt, Jr. (Frances).
Dorothea attended Linden Public Schools, graduating from Linden High School in 1944. She retired from New Jersey Bell (Verizon) and Township of Cranford. After retiring to Tequesta, Florida, she continued to work part-time until age 78. She loved the beach, visits with her family, dancing, reading novels, crossword puzzles and beating everyone in Scrabble. Funeral arrangements are by Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Cranford, NJ. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 22,2019 from 4pm to 8pm. Services Thursday, May 23, 2019 at 10am at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge, NJ.
