Dorothy S. Mcfarlan

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 2 pm in The Presbyterian Church in Westfield on the the corner of Mountain Ave. and East Broad Street for Dorothy S. McFarlan. Arrangements are by the Gray Funeral Home in Westfield.
Mrs. McFarlan age 102 died on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at her home in Westfield. She was born in Bayonne and has lived in Westfield since 1934.
Mrs. McFarlan graduated from Douglas College in 1926. She was employed as an elementary school teacher for a few years by the Bayonne Board of Education.
She along with her late husband, Alden (1995) were very active in The Presbyterian Church in Westfield. She along with her husband were elders. She was also a Sunday School teacher for many years.
She was a member of the women's college club in Westfield.
In 2001 she received the Van Guard Award as a distinguished alumni of Douglas College. As an alumni she held numerous class offices, including President and most recently class correspondent.
She is survived by two sons; Russell and Richard McFarlan. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
