Dorothy E. Mulreany, 90, formerly of Westfield, NJ, died February 11 at Freedom Village Health Center in Bradenton, FL. She was born November 12, 1918, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Harry and Anna Muens. In 1940 she married Robert H. Mulreany, former mayor of Westfield, who preceded her in death in 1998. Following his death, she moved to Springfield, IL.
Mrs. Mulreany and her husband both were long time members of the Presbyterian Church in Westfield, and she maintained her membership there until her death. She was a founding member of the Rake and Hoe Garden Club in Westfield, and was a member of Echo Lake Country Club where she enjoyed golf. Mrs. Mulreany was a volunteer at Children Specialized Hospital for many years and remained an enthusiastic bridge player throughout her life.
Surviving are two daughters, Doreen M. O'Brien of Springfield, IL and Carol Henwood of San Francisco, CA, a brother, Harold Muens of Orange City, FL, four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Gray Funeral Home in Westfield. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery. Donations may be made in her memory to Children's Specialized Hospital, Mountainside, or the Overlook Hospital Foundation or to the First Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) or the Pregnancy Care Center of Springfield, which Mrs. Mulreany generously supported during her years in Springfield
