Douglas R. Woodfield, 49 of Westfield passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2008 at Overlook Hospital in Summit. Visitation will be held on Friday, Nov. 7 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm in the Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 10:30 am at The Presbyterian Church in Westfield. Interment will be private.
Mr. Woodfield was born in Rahway and lived in Woodbridge before moving to Westfield 18 years ago. He was employed in the mortgage banking industry being affiliated with Countrywide in Westfield and for the last 10 years with Real Title LLC in Parsippany.
While in High School Doug was the #1 Tenor with the All State Chorus. Doug was the tenor soloist with The Presbyterian Church in Westfield and also Centenary United Methodist Church in Metuchen. He also shared his time and talents with both of theses churches, serving on several committees. Doug was an avid fisherman and was a volunteer with the Band Parents Association at Westfield High School.
He is survived by his wife, Wendy, his daughter, Kirsten both of Westfield, his mother, Sylvia Woodfield of Metuchen, his father, Richard and his wife Nereida of Scotch Plains a sister, Linda Woodfield-Stern and her husband Ed of Westfield, two brothers Scott and his wife Ali of Metuchen and Alan of Scotch Plains. He will also be deeply missed by his neices Emma and Jessica.
