Edith B. Carlson

Edith B. Carlson, 103 years old, of Cranford, died Tuesday May 31, 2011. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation, 7-9 PM today, Wednesday, June 1, 2011, Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, where the funeral service will begin at 9:30 AM Thursday June 2, 2011. Interment will follow in Cloverleaf Memorial Park, Woodbridge. She was born in Bayonne, NJ, in 1907 to the late Karl and Hanna Swenson Berg, who came to America from Sweden. Following high school, she graduated from the Katherine Gibbs Business School, and went on to work for AT&T, in Manhattan. A member of the Calvary Lutheran Church, Cranford, she was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Carlson in 1961. She is survived by her son: Richard Carlson and his wife Kathleen D. of Cranford, granddaughter: Kathleen A. "Kate" Carlson of Cranford, and grandson: Richard A. Carlson of Billings, Montana.
