Edna Doll, 94, of Cranford, NJ and Orient, NY, died February 21, 2008 at her home in Cranford.
Miss Doll was born in 1914 in Hillside, NJ. She was a graduate of Hillside High School, Kean University and New York University, becoming a resident of Cranford in the 1950's.
During her long and distinguished career, she was a teacher, principal and curriculum coordinator in the Hillside Public Schools for 36 years and served as Principal of Calvin Coolidge School and Hillside Avenue School. In 1971, she became Curriculum Coordinator and Assistant Director of the NJ State Council for Environmental Education. She also served as President of the Hillside Education Association and the Union County Administrators' Association.
Miss Doll spent much of her time in her home in Orient, New York and until recently, she taught creative writing classes at Union County College in Cranford.
A world traveler, Doll made friends wherever she went. Her interest in photography led to numerous solo shows in New Jersey and New York.
In her last years, after a stroke kept her mostly at home, she turned to poetry and produced award winning poems.
Doll, predeceased by her brother, Karl, leaves behind a niece, Cynthia Michael, nephew Carl Dale and great niece Anora Snyder as well as her sister-in-law Clara Dale and her devoted caregiver of seven years, Rita, and many, many friends and students.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 5, 2008 at the Youth Center of the First Presbyterian Church in Cranford.
