Edna Jane Stotler Beloved Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother of Westfield, 90 Edna Jane Stotler, 90, of Westfield, passed away on August 28, 2013, at Genesis Health Care- Westfield Center. Edna was born on April 12, 1923, in Williamsport, MD. She was raised in Hagerstown, MD, the youngest of nine children. She pursued nursing as a career and received her R.N. Edna married Harold H. Stotler from Martinsburg, WV in 1942. They first resided in Morgantown, WV, where she worked as a nurse in order to support Harold as he pursued a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from West Virginia University. Shortly after graduation, Harold was selected by the US Government to work on the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge, TN where they resided until the project was completed. In 1945, Edna and Harold moved to Westfield along with their first born child, Harold Thomas. They resided in Westfield for over 35 years where they raised their three children, Thomas, Richard, and Andrew. Raising her family was truly her passion. Edna was an active participant in both the community and her children's education, devoting many hours of service to school and local organizations. She served as President of the Wilson School PTA and President of the Roosevelt Jr. High School PTA. She was president of the Junior Women's Club of Westfield and was a member of the NJ Federation of Women's Clubs. She was an effective leader in these organizations, known for her toughness, hard work, compassion, and dedication. Edna was predeceased by her beloved husband of 59 years, Harold Stotler, who passed away in 2001. She is survived by her loving children: Thomas and wife Jaque of Scotch Plains, Richard and wife: Therese of Basking Ridge, and Andrew and wife Mariclaire of Westfield. She is also survived by six adored grandchildren, and ten beloved great grandchildren, as well as many other relatives and friends. Edna was an inspiration to all who knew her, as she touched the lives of everyone she met in so many ways. She was a devoted wife and mother, an avid supporter of Westfield athletics, a staunch patriot, an active community leader, and lover of life. Her family will attest to the fact that she was the world's greatest maker of pot-roast. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Edna's memorial service will begin at 11:00AM, Saturday September 14, 2013, at St.Paul's Episcopal Church, Westfield. Burial will follow in The Garth.
