Edward John Moller

April 17, 1926 — March 19, 2008

Edward J. Moller, Sr. of Whitehouse Station, NJ entered into eternal life on March 19, 2008. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, march 22, 2008 at 9:30 am at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Westfield. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield. Visiting will be this evening from 7-9 pm, Friday 2-4 and 7-9 pm and also on Saturday at 8:30 am at the Gray Funeral Home 318 East Broad Street, Westfield. Ed was born in Richmond Hill, NY and lived most of his life in Westfield and Whitehouse Station, NJ. He was a graduate of NYU and obtained a Master's Degree from Newark College of Engineering. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1945 and served for two years. He attained the rank of Chief Petty Officer and received an honorable discharge.
Ed was a Professional Civil and Sanitary Engineer who was employed by Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission as Deputy Chief Engineer for 27 years, retiring in 1982. He was the Chief Engineer for Morgan - Daniels Service Company, as well as being employed as a Consulting Engineer for Elson T. Killam in Millburn.
Ed's volunteer activities included the Union County Professional Engineers Society, serving twice as President and recently holding the office of Trustee. He was a member of American Legion Post 284 of Whitehouse Station, NJ. He was appointed to the Readington Township Board of Health in 1980 and served several terms as Chairman. He stepped from that organization in 1998. He was also a member of the NJ Wastewater Commission.
Ed loved to travel the world with his wife, Lucille.
Ed leaves behind his beloved wife, Lucille of 38 years, six children, Edward J. Moller, Jr. and his wife, Suzanne; John N. Morgan and his wife, Louise; Geri M. Samuel and her husband, Richard; David C. Moller and his wife, Raquel; Lynn M. Putnoky and her husband, Thomas and Concetta Morgan - Kay and her husband, James. He also leaves behind 19 grandchildren whom he loved dearly. Ed loved his family, his work, his church and his country.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Redeemer Lutheran Church and School of Westfield, NJ.
