Edward Pizzella, 85, Cranford resident for 63 years passed away peacefully at home on August 13. Mr Pizzella was born in Elizabeth, son of Raymond and Emma(nee Villelli)Pizzella. He graduated from Abraham Clark High School in Roselle in 1948, then served in the National Guard as a sharp shooter until 1953. After which he was employed by Acme Supermarkets as a produce manager for 48 years. He served as an usher for Cranford Presbyterian Church for many years. Ed was an avid automobile enthusiast, spent time at his shore house in Toms River and enjoyed taking daily strolls around the neighborhood. He will be fondly remembered for his thoughtfulness by friends and neighbors. Ed was predeceased by his brother Ray in 2010, survived by his brother Robert and wife Carolyn Pizzella of Mandeville, LA. Beloved uncle of Barbara Tretola, Nancy Alexo, Carole Pizzella, Brian Pizzella, Sue Anne Jernee, Robert Pizzella, late Anthony Pizzella, Angela & Michael Pizzella. Ed was also a Cherished Great Uncle and Great-Great Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation and Life Celebration will be Sunday, August 17, 2014 from 3-7 pm at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford NJ, 07016.
