Edwin William Lehecka

Edwin William Lehecka, 84, a 50 year resident of Westfield, died Monday June 11, in Somerset Medical Center, Somerville, NJ. Born in New York City, he was a graduate of Pace University, having retired from the Benjamin Moore Company, Montvale, NJ, where he was a corporate treasurer. Mr. Lehecka was a veteran of the US Army, serving in both World War II, and the Korean War. He had been a resident of the Arbor Glen Retirement Community in Bridgewater since 2008. Mr. Lehecka was a past member of the First United Methodist Church in Westfield, and had been currently active in the First Baptist Church, Westfield. He was a member of the Westfield Stamp Club, and enjoyed oil painting, as well as studying geneology, and US Civil War history. Edwin was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn Buell Lehecka. He is survived by his daughter: Elaine Lehecka Pratt and her husband Dean of Fanwood, two grandsons: Eric Pratt, and Neil Pratt, both of Mass., and his longtime friend: Ann Rumery. Relatives and friends are invited to the Visitation 2-4 and 7-9PM, Thursday (today) June 14, at Gray Funeral Home, 318 E. Broad St., Westfield. Private burial Fairview Cemetery. The Service of Remembrance will be 2:00PM Sunday June 17, 2012, in the First Baptist Church, 170 Elm St., Westfield. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to the First Baptist Church, Westfield, Memorial Fund.
