Eleanor (Lynn) Harnett was born on October 1, 1935 to Earnest and Eleanor Lynn in New York City. At the age of three Eleanor lost her hearing, and her parents enrolled her in a school for the deaf. It was here where it was instilled in her that there was nothing she could not do. From this she thrived, knowing that with patience and strive nothing was impossible. She went on to Mabel Dean Bacon high school where she graduated and became a top secretary for Met Life. She later went on to meet the love of her life Michael, starting a family and eventually moving from Queens N.Y. to Cranford. She leaves behind her children, Michael(Becky) Harnett, Patricia(Christopher) Gallagher, Dennis(Kim) Harnett, her grandchildren Alexa, Christian, Sean, Natalie, James, Zach, Gwen. Three generations of loving nieces and nephews. And her wonderful neighbors the Dugan, Walter(Buddy), McDonald(Scout), and Burd families. Words cannot describe the love and countless thank yous to you all, for which she truly considered all of you extended family.
Mom, you faced many difficult trials and tribulations in your life. But you faced them with patience, head on, headstrong, and with courage. You had a smile, and a kind word for all those you met. May we all learn and grow to be more courageous, patient, and kind as you were. We love you, and will miss you. And I'm sorry mom, people now know your true age, and not "29" like you always said.
