Ellen Jean Anthony

Ellen J. Anthony, 92; Homemaker and Volunteer Ellen J. Anthony, 92, died on October 21, 2010 at Fellowship Village in Basking Ridge. Prior to moving to Basking Ridge, Ellen lived in Westfield from 1950 to 1996. For over 50 years Ellen was married to Ralph F. Anthony who died in 1996. Born in Newark, New Jersey on March 12, 1918, she was a graduate of Bloomfield High School and attended Syracuse University. During her years in Westfield, Ellen was active at the Presbyterian Church and at various times she served as a Deacon, an Elder, head of the Children's Sunday School and a member of the pastor nominating committee. For many years she was an active volunteer for Contact We Care, from which she received numerous awards for her devoted service, and was a member of PEO, Chapter E in Westfield. Surviving are her daughter Edith Watson and her husband Roger of Berkley, MI, her son Frederick W. Anthony and his wife Mary Ann, of Westfield, her son Ralph E. Anthony and his wife Jane of Lafayette, CA, her daughter Anne Anthony and her husband Loren Koravec of Upper Saddle River, NJ, eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 2 at 11:00 AM at The Presbyterian Church in Westfield.
