Elma Louise Munster, 89, a woman of deep faith and conviction, passed away peacefully on Wednesday April 22, 2020 at Sunrise Assisted Living in Westfield.
A loving wife and mother, she was born in Belleville, New Jersey to Nicholas and Anna Kleinknecht and was the youngest of the 3 Kleinknecht ("Dolly") sisters. She worked for a number of years at Prudential in Newark, and eventually married her Belleville High School sweetheart Charles in 1953. They moved to Cranford in 1957 where she lived and raised her family until moving to Sunrise in 2019. For over 60 years, she was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford which guided her faith and spirit. Her fondest memories were of her years in the choir and her participation in so many of the church's activities. She was supported over the years by her loving and caring friends at the church.
Predeceased by her parents, sisters Doris and Adell, and husband Charles (2006), she is survived by her daughter, Karen Cassidy and her husband Mark along with her son, John Munster, and his wife Aileen, as well as four loving grandchildren, Patrick and Sarah Cassidy and Nick and Katie Munster. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews and her spiritual network of friends at First Presbyterian Church.
