A private service will be held for Emerson M. Van Doren. Arrangements are by the Gray
Funeral Home 318 East Broad Street, Westfield.
Mr. Van Doren age 94 passed away on Sunday, July 2nd at his summer home in Seaside Park.
He was born in Plainfield and resided in Mountainside and Darien, Connecticut for many years before moving to Seaside Park in 1975. He also maintained a residence in Vero Beach, Florida for many years.
He was a graduate of the Wharton School of Business, class of 1938 and recieved a masters degree from Harvard class of 1939.
He first worked as an accountant for Merck and Company and Norwich Pharmaceutical. Then from 1954 until 1974 he was the owner and President of Darien Hardware Inc. in Darien, Connecticut.
His predeceased by his wife, Jaqueline, a son, Barclay Van Doren and a granddaughter, Sandy Dohm. He is survived by his daughter, Sally Dohm. He will also be deeply missed by his three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
