Florence A. Philbin

Mrs. Florence Philbin (Lachard), 84, formerly of Cranford, passed away on May 13, 2009.

Relatives and friends are welcome to attend the funeral on Monday, May 18, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Gray's Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford, NJ. Born in Egg Harbor, New Jersey, Florence resided in Bayone and Roselle before moving to Cranford where she lived for 40 years. In 2005, she moved to the Westfield Senior Citizen Housing.

After raising her family, Florence worked in Hahne and Company in Westfield in 1972 until she retired in 1989. She was also a door person for Gray Memorial Funeral Home for many years. In her later years, Florence was an active member of the Westfield Senior Citizen's Tenant Association. She enjoyed travel and surrounding herself with her loving family.

Florence was predeceased by her mother, Rose Lachard, her father, Arthur Lachard, her dear husband, John T. Philbin, and her beloved daughter, Denise Haas. She is survived by her loving children, Carol Senff (Timothy)of Warren, NJ, Patricia Traynor (Patrick), of Roselle, NJ, and her adoring grandchildren, John Haas (Dolores), Jason Haas, Mark Haas, Tobias Senff, Caitlin Senff, Sara Traynor, and Kristina Traynor. She is also survived by her very special, great grandson, Niklas Haas who has wonderful memories of his "GG."

She also leaves behind a host of friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews who will miss her thoughtfulness and genuine concern for others.
