Frances Andersen

Frances Newbury Andersen, 95, of Cranford, NJ and East Orleans, MA died on Feb. 16. Born in Point Pleasant, she moved to Cranford in 1940. Mrs. Andersen was the wife of former Cranford mayor and Union County freeholder, Frederick P. Andersen who died in 1984.

Mrs. Andersen was a past president of the Elizabeth VNA. She was a longtime member of the Cranford Garden Club, and a member of the Trinity Church Guild and the Overlook Hospital Twig. She loved the ocean and spending time on Nauset Beach in Cape Cod with her daughter, Kandy.

Granny was devoted to her family and is survived by her three children, Peter and his wife, Sally, of East Orleans, MA, Stephanie Taylor and her husband, Scott, of Cranford, NJ, and Karen (Kandy) Andersen, formerly of Westfield, with whom she lived. She was the grandmother of Guy and Todd Andersen, Megan Taylor Shockley and her husband Jeff, Katie Taylor Kennedy and her husband George, Becky and Emily Taylor. She was G Gran to Declan, Mackenzie, and Molly Kennedy.
