Hedwig Prussak (nee Kittel) died peacefully at her daughters home shortly after celebrating her 100th birthday on February 23, 2009 with many relatives and friends attending.
She was born in Ennepetal, Germany, and came to the United States in 1953, lived in Irvington, NJ, and for 30 years in Cranford, NJ before retiring to Nelson, Nevada.
Hedwig was a loving homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and attending her church.
Hedwig was pre deceased by her husband, Willy Alfred. Survived by her son Wilfred (Fred), and his wife Johanna (Jo Anne) Teubner Prussak of Cranford, NJ. A daughter Ursel Hulse and her husband Bill and family of Nelson, Nevada. Three grandchildren, Karin Prussak, Linda Swett and husband Michael, Krista Doran and husband John. Five great grandchildren, Dana, Max, Kira, Sam, and John Christopher. Also survived by nieces and nephews in Germany, Canada, and the United States.
Hedwig was a kind and loving woman She will be greatly missed by everyone that got to know her, especially her family.
There will be a funeral service at the United Methodist Church of Summit, 17 Kent Place Blvd. in Summit, NJ 07901, 11 AM Saturday March 21, 2009. Burial will follow at Hollywood Memorial Park, Union.
