Henry (Hank) J. Lenox died at his home in Cranford, on New Years day January 1, 2010. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 7-9 PM at the Gray Memorial Funeral Home in Cranford. Funeral Liturgy will be 9:30 AM Wednesday January 6, 2010 at St. Ann's R.C. Church in Garwood with burial to follow at St. Gertrude's Cemetery. Known to everyone as Hank, was founder and president of Lenox-Fugle Electronics Inc.; first in Watchung and then So. Plainfield. His prior employment included Nytronic's Inc., Berkeley Heights, where he was vice president of marketing and sales manager; Airtec Inc., Roselle; G.V. Controls, Livingston; and Airtron, Morris Plains. He began his career at American Gas Furnace Co., Elizabeth. In 1993, he semi-retired an became chairman of Lenox-Fugle International Inc., with corporate headquarters in Nogales, Arizona, and manufacturing in Mexico. His company was a world-wide leader in the manufacture of axial subminature magnetically shielded inductors supplied to the electronic industry, including NASA. It was known as the "Red Shield" line. Hank was educated in Catholic schools in Trenton and at Villanova University. A gifted athlete, he excelled in football and baseball. He was recruited by Connie Mack of the Philadelphia A's to play professional baseball. His father, however, said it was "too early" in his life. Hank was 14. He remained a life-long football fan of Notre Dame University. Hank was known for his sharp wit and his famous one-liners. A voracious reader, he was a student of American history and had a love of classical music. His one regret in life was not being able to serve in the armed Forces during World War II due to a four-year bout of bi-lateral tuberculosis. Born in Everett, Washington, Hank was the son of the late Joseph and Lucille Vechesky Lenox. As a child he traveled wherever his father's job took him throughout the United States. His family finally settled in Burlington City, N.J., then moved to Rahway and later Colonia. He resided with his wife, Rita Korza in Cranford for some 50 years. Besides his parents, he is pre-deceased by two brothers, James and Robert Lenox, and two sisters, Patricia Hooten, and Catherine Boyle. Besides his wife, he is survived by a brother Francis Lenox of Connecticut, as well as several nieces and nephews.
