Herman W. Graf, 90 died at home on Monday, July 6, 2009. Mr. Graf was born in Newark and raised in Maplewood, NJ. Mr. Graf received a Bachelor's degree from the Rutgers School of Business in Newark, NJ. During this time he was one of the founders of the Alumni School of Business of Rutgers, Newark and was a member of Delta Sigma Pi. The Scarlet Oak Memorial Service Award was presented to Herman in 2002.He was married to Olga Pubanz for 54 years until her death in 1996.Herman was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Corps. After his honorable discharge Herman and Olga moved back to NJ where he joined Colgate Palmolive Company as a sales representative and worked at that company for his entire career, earning many awards and recognition.He is survived by his son Robert and wife Connie; grandchildren Colby Sheppard husband Robert of Westfield, NJ; Brett Graf and wife Shelley of Montrose, Scotland; Keith Graf and wife Radka of Hamilton Township, NJ; Krista Notarmaso and husband Ralph of Parrish, FL. In addition he was the proud great-grandfather of Aidan and Alexa Sheppard, Ryan and Jayden Graf, Katelyn Notarmaso. Mr. Graf was also preceded in death by his son Spike. Herman lived his life to the fullest and never lost his sense of humor. His family and friends will remember him with love and happy memories of a wonderful life.Viewing will be held Thursday, July 9 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 10 - 11 am at Gray Funeral Home, 318 East Broad Street, Westfield, NJ.
