Imogene B. Gerold

Imogene B. Gerold of Westfield passed away on Friday, June 12, 2009 at her home. Visitation will be on Friday, June 19, 2009 at the Gray Funeral Home; 318 East Broad St., Westfield. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 9 am at The First Baptist Church of Westfield. Gene as she is known by family and friends was born in Taylorsville, PA and grew up in Rahway, NJ. She later lived in Winfield, Clark and Greenville, SC before moving to Westfield several years ago.Gene and her late husband Jerry were active square dancers and even appeared on the Ted Mack Hour on National TV. After many years as a stay at home mom, Gene went back to work at Tennant Company in Linden for ten years. She retired in 1980.Gene is survived by her children; Gregory, Sandra Antonelli and Sharon Smith and her siblings; Donald Nash and Ruth Freeman. Gene will be deeply missed by her five grandchildren; Sean, Elizabeth, Alison, Nicholas and Dakota.Donations in Gene's memory may be made to The Center For Hope Hospice; 1900 Raritan Road, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076.
