James Morton Galbraith, Jr, 90, of Cranford, NJ, passed away on December 26, 2024. Born in Mount Vernon, NY, he was a 1952 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School, Elizabeth, NJ. He received a Bachelor of Science degree in 1956 and a Master of Business Administration degree in 1967, both from Rutgers University. Mr. Galbraith was an officer in the United States Air Force, serving from 1956 through 1959. As Captain, he held the ratings of Navigator, Electronic Counter Measures (ECM), with tours in Texas, Mississippi and the Far East. In 1995, Mr. Galbraith retired from Sandvik Corporation, where he held the positions of Systems/Program Manager, and Operations Manager after 19 years. In 1999, he also retired from JGA Associates as Technical Manager, completing government contracts at Fort Monmouth. Mr. Galbraith is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Evelyn; three daughters, Carolyn and her husband Joe, Elaine and her husband Jerry, and Diane and her husband John; and six cherished grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Robert.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church of Cranford http://firstprescranford.org/ A visitation will be held Thursday, January 2, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Ave., Cranford, NJ.
