JEANNE ANDERSON AUGUSTINE
JUNE 9, 1933 – June 18, 2022

Jeanne Anderson Augustine passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at the age of 89. Jeanne was the wife of the late Alan M. Augustine Sr., the love of her life, who passed away in June of 2001 after nearly 48 years of marriage.
She was a member of the committee to bring improvements to the current Alan M. Augustine Village Green in the memory of her husband Alan, who spent many years serving Scotch Plains as councilman and mayor, Union County Freeholder and in the New Jersey State assembly. Jeanne was his quiet but steady support throughout his political career. Together they also enjoyed spending time with family and getting away to relax in Cape May. Jeanne loved dogs, flowers, reading, and playing bridge. Before her illness she enjoyed the Garden Club and was a long-time volunteer with the Thrift Shop of Scotch Plains.
Jeanne was the daughter of the late Herbert R. and Laurette Anderson and grew up on Colonial Avenue in Westfield. She was a graduate of Westfield High School and Centenary College. She was predeceased by her brother and sister-in-law, Robert D. and Barbara Anderson of Rumson. She is survived by her three children and their partners: Linda Gaie Augustine (Scott L. Klabenesh), Wendy Augustine Brill (Tim), and Alan M. Augustine, Jr. (Beth) as well as three granddaughters Allison Brill and Lucy and Annie Augustine. A funeral service will be 10 am Friday June 24, 2022 in the chapel of The Presbyterian Church of Westfield, interment in Fairview Cemetery will immediately follow.
