Joseph Edward Afflerbech, 88, died peacefully Tuesday, January 2nd Rahway Hospital in Rahway following
year long battle with cancer.Born and raised in Elizabeth ,Joe moved to Cranford over 30 years ago.
In his early years , Joe was a proud member of the Fulton boys , a group of lifelong friends that grew up in
Elizabeth. He was a machinist by trade and also a proud Army veteran of the Korean War.
Joe loved to spend summers with his family at his home in Lanoka Harbor.
Summers were spent swimming in the lagoon, crabbing, and just taking walks to the beach. Caring for his pets
Becky and Ava was job he loved to do.
He was the best Uncle anyone could ever ask for . Throughout his entire life he was never sick a day and never
once complained ,even at the very end.
He will be sadly missed by a host of nieces and nephews, Bob and Joann Glowacky of Blairstown, Tom and
Lauren Glowacky of New Hampshire, Frank Glowacky of Cranford , Sal and Mary Ann Farid of Clifton , Bill and
Lisa Afflerbach of Edison and 16 great nieces and nephews .
Visitation and life celebration will be on Sunday from 4 to 8 pm at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, Cranford. A mass of Christian burial will be 9:30 am Monday January 8, 2018 at St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church in Cranford, with entombment to follow at Rosedale Cemetery ion Linden, NJ.
