Joseph H. Moran II passed away on Monday, September 3, 2007 in the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home in Piscataway, NJ. He was 96 years old.
Mr. Moran was born in Brooklyn, New York and resided in New York City for many years. After retiring as an Executive Vice President of Moran Towing and Transport Company in New York City, a company founded by his grandfather, he lived in Switzerland, Hobesound, Florida and Sea Cliff, Long Island. In his later years, he resided in McKeen Towers in West Palm Beach, Florida and the Francis E. Parker Memorial Home in Piscataway, New Jersey.
Mr. Moran was a grauate of Poly Prep '29, Williams '33 and Harvard Law '36. He was also a veteran of the US Navy serving as Lieutenant aboard PT 494.
He was also a nationally ranked amateur skier who competed well into his 80's.
He is predeceased by his loving wife Polly who passed away on November 25, 1993. He is survived by his daughters; Cynthia Moran of Sutton, Mass. and Diana Chabrier and her husband Wilfred of Westfield NJ. He will be deeply missed by his grandchildren, Francesca, Julia, Gabriela and Kristina. he is also survived by many dear nieces, nephews and friends.
