Joseph C. Smith

Joseph C. Smith died on Tuesday December 4th, 2007 at
the North Shore University Hospital on Long Island NY. Mr. Smith was born in Newark N.J. and has lived in Forest Hills N.Y. for many years.
As a young man he served two years as a member of the armed forces of the United States. Mr Smith was a graduate of Pace College where he received a Masters Degree in Business in 1968. For many years he was nationally recognized for his expertise in recruiting and training for women's basketball. Mr Smith was employed for over 20 years as a executive by the Social Security Administration, in New York State retiring in 1997.
He was the son of the late Simon and Rube Smith and is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, William and Ruth Smith of Scotch Plains, N.J. Also
surviving are two nephews, Matthew and Adam Smith and two grand nieces and three grand nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 7th, 2007 at the Gray Funeral Home 318 East Broad Street Westfield, N.J. at 11 am. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers remembrance may be made to your favorite Charity. Friends may call on Friday
from 10 am till time of service.
