Joseph Bernard Sweeney

Joseph B. Sweeney, 82, of Westfield, died Friday December 10, 2010. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 PM Monday December 13th, 2010, Gray Funeral Home, 318 E. Broad Street, Westfield. Mass of the Resurrection will be 10AM Tuesday December 14, 2010, Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Westfield. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. He is survived by his sister: Anna E. Healey, two nieces: Marion Kaposztas of Hillsborough, NJ, Barbara Healey of Rahway, NJ, three nephews: Anton Kaposztas of Riverbank, CA, James Kaposztas of Perth Amboy, John Healey of Garwood, a grandnephew, and two grandnieces. He was the beloved brother of the late Marion Kaposztas. Born in Montclair, he served in the US Navy during the Korean War, and was retired from Tyco (AT&T), Clark, NJ plant. He had been active with the Astronomy Club in Cranford, and the Dawn Patrol Sea Plane Base, Secaucus.
