Joseph Patrick Van Bergen, Sr., 78, died peacefully at the Center for Hope Hospice in Scotch Plains, NJ on October 22, 2022. A lifelong and devoted resident of Cranford, Joe lived his last five years in Clark with his beloved wife, Joan (Walton).

He was a faithful, lifelong member and usher at St. Michael Church in Cranford and spent his free time gardening and resting at the beach. Always one to lend a hand, Joe amassed many friends who appreciated his selflessness and generosity.
