Wife of the Former Roselle Park Police Department Commissioner and Borough Councilman
Julia Teresa Wolf (nee Hersko), 98, of Scotch Plains, NJ, passed away at her residence on Sunday,
January 24, 2016.
Julia's Life Celebration will be Friday January 29th from 2:00-5:00 and 7:00-9:00PM at
Gray Funeral Directors, 12 Springfield Ave, Cranford, where her funeral service will
begin at 10:00AM Saturday January 30, 2016. Interment will follow at Mt. Olivet
Cemetery, Newark.
Born in Hudson, NY, Julia lived for many years in Roselle Park, NJ, where her late
husband Frederick Wolf served as a borough councilman, and the commissioner of the
Roselle Park Police Department. He was involved in organizing local youth baseball
leagues in Roselle Park, where the field is named Frederick Wolf Memorial Field.
An avid Nascar fan, Julia was the devoted mother of her son: Frederick Wolf III (Virginia
Isley), grandchildren, great grandchildren, nices and nephews. She was predeceased by
five sisters: Irene Esbrandt, Margaret Ponick, Vilma Stanton, Lillian Misura, and Eleanor
Gravelack.
