Julius Balogh, 90 of Garwood passed away on Saturday, March 8, 2008 at Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center in Plainfield. Mr. Balogh was born in New York City and had been a resident of Garwood for more than 80 years. Recently, Mr. Balogh had resided at the assisted living area of Brighton Gardens in Edison.
Mr. Balogh was a veteran of the United States Army and served during World War II. He was a machinist who was employed by Singer Manufacturing Company in the Diehl Division in Finderne for thirty years. From 1973 until his retirement in 1983 he worked in the same capacity for Cozzoli Machine Company in Plainfield.
Mr. Balogh was a member and an Elder at St. Pauls United Church of Christ in Garwood. He was also a member of the Azure - Masada Lodge #22 F&AM, Cranford. Mr. Balogh was a lifelong New York Yankee fan and Rutgers football fan.
Mr. Balogh was predeceased by his wife Doris M. in 2001. He is survived by his son, David and his wife, Linda of Marlboro, NJ and his daughter, Nancy Mattern and her husband Trent of Scotch Plains, NJ. He will aslo be deeply missed by his grandchildren; Krista, David, Christopher and Tyler.
