Karen Sue Wheeler was a strong, hard working woman who gave everything she had just for the sake of making life better for her family and the friends she made along the journey. Despite some of the tremendous adversity she encountered in her life, she persevered and ultimately succeeded in doing just that, making life better for her family and her friends. And how she did that was with the lessons that could be taken away from the adversity she faced as well as the good times she shared with us. What was learned was that yes, we are human and we make mistakes. And yes, even for no reason at all, bad things sometimes happen. But her encounters showed us that it is not what happens to us that makes the difference. What truly makes the difference is how you respond to what happens. If you make a mistake, own it, then do what is necessary to correct it and you will be forgiven. And when bad things happen, forgive it and move on and you won't be consumed by it. The other lesson that can be taken away from her life encounters is that you can find great happiness in just spending time with the people you know and care about. She shared so many moments of smiles and laughter with her family and friends. It is a certainty that she will be remembered the most for her happiness. It never seemed to matter what was going on around her, she always found a way to smile. Now we have a job to do. Because she was generous enough to share all of this wisdom and laughter and smiles with us, it is now up to us to keep her alive. And how we do that is very simple. Remember the good times she shared with us and continue to use the lessons she taught us. If we can do that one simple thing, she will never truly be gone. Her presence will be missed by her son, her 2 daughters, her son in law, her daughter in law, her 3 grand children, and the many friends she made through the remembered the most for her happiness. It never seemed to matter what was going on around her, she always found a way to smile. Now we have a job to do. Because she was generous enough to share all of this wisdom and laughter and smiles with us, it is now up to us to keep her alive. And how we do that is very simple. Remember the good times she shared with us and continue to use the lessons she taught us. If we can do that one simple thing, she will never truly be gone. Her presence will be missed by her son, her 2 daughters, her son in law, her daughter in law, her 3 grand children, and the many friends she made through the years. May she continue to watch over us with the pride of knowing that we are all better people for having known her and may the angels bless and keep her for all eternity.
