Katherine T. Mellen

Mrs. Katherine T. Mellen, 98 of Westfield, New Jersey, passed away on Saturday, February 17, at Haven Hospice of JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ.
Born in New Milford, New Jersey in 1908, she was the daughter of Henry J. and Margaret (Ersing) Toennis. A New Jersey resident all her life, Katherine lived in Bergenfield, Ridgewood and for many years in Westfield. Katherine was a 1925 graduate of Hackensack High School. She worked at Guaranty Trust Company in New York until she retired to raise a family.
She was predeceased by her husband, William E. Mellen in 1981. Surviving are her son, Bruce and his wife, Barbara of Westfield; 2 grandchildren: Brian of Reisterstown, Maryland and Keith of Denville, NJ and a great grandson, Nicholas of Reisterstown.
Funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 22 at 11 am at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Westfield followed by interment at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus.
Arrangements are by The Gray Funeral Home 318 East Broad Street, Westfield, NJ.
In lieu of flowers a memorial donation may be made to Patriots' Path Council, BSA, 222 Columbia Turnpike, Florham Park, NJ 07932 or to Haven Hospice of JFK Medical Center in Edison, NJ 08818.
