Kathleen McAdam (nee O'Dwyer), 83, of Cranford, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2021, at the home of her daughter, Mary Jo McAdam Fuller. Visitation will be Sunday, February 7,2021 from 1:00pm-5:00pm at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, New Jersey. Funeral Mass on Monday,February 8, 2021, 10:00 am at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Cranford, New Jersey. Kathleen was born in New York City to Ellen (nee Hayes) and John O'Dwyer on January 23, 1938. She graduated from St. Vincent's School of Nursing in New York City in 1959. She married the love of her life, Michael McAdam, on May 29,1965 in New York City. Kathleen was a strong, independent and kind woman, raising her two children on her own following the untimely death of her husband Michael in 1968. She was a dedicated and proud registered nurse for over 60 years, most recently caring for the homeless through the health clinic at St. John's Soup Kitchen in Newark, New Jersey. Kathleen loved to travel with her family and friends, greatly enjoyed the arts, and treasured her thirty-plus year tradition of weekly Friday night dinners with her dearest friends. She was most proud of her role as the loving and doting grandmother to her three granddaughters, Molly, Abby and Missy. Kathleen was preceded in death by her loving husband Michael, her parents Ellen and John, her younger brother Michael, and by many extended O'Dwyer and McAdam family loved ones.Kathleen is survived by her daughter Mary Jo and son-in-law Kevin Fuller, her son Michael and daughter-in-law Cindy, her granddaughters Molly and Abigail Fuller and Melissa McAdam, her sisters Sr. Michaeline O'Dwyer, R.S.H.M, Evelyn (and brother-in-law Bernard) O'Prey and Joan (and brother-in-law Frank) Slachman, her brothers John O'Dwyer and Edward (and sister-in-law Nadja)O'Dwyer, and by her many beloved family members and friends.In lieu of flowers, Kathleen's family has requested that donations may be made in her memory to St. John's Soup Kitchen via the donations section of their web site at njsk.org (or they may be contacted by telephone at 973-623-0822).
