Lillian was one of six siblings. Her and her twin brother, Jimmy were the youngest of the family. She grew up in Cranford and married Edward Carey who also was from the same town. Lillian and Edward raised their sons, Edward Jr. and Anthony, in Roselle Park. In her golden years, Lillian moved to Lebanon to be closer to her grandchildren.
Lillian was a food enthusiast. Besides enjoying the taste of good food, she also enjoyed cooking delicious meals for her family and friends. In her free time, she enjoyed long walks, gardening and traveling. She had a big heart and will be missed dearly.
She is predeceased by her husband, Edward A. Carey. Predeceased by her twin brother James Cook Sr. (2021). She is survived by a son, Edward A. Carey Jr. Three grandsons, Sean, Andrew, and Adam Carey. A great granddaughter, Charleston Carey. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Joan Cook.
Visitation will be on Monday August 15th from 9 am until service time of 11 am at Gray memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue in Cranford. Burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Westfield.
