Linda C. Bristow died on February 26, 2018 at the age of 69 at home, where she wanted to be. She was under hospice care having fought brain cancer for more than 12 years. Linda is survived by her husband of almost 25 years, Eric Rosenberg, son, Kyle Johnson, daughter-in-law, Tamara Johnson, grandson Carter Johnson, sister, Virginia (Ginny) Szeklicki, and nephews, Christopher Szeklicki, Robert Hikel and his wife Lily.
Linda was born in Newark, New Jersey. She grew up in East Orange, New Jersey and lived in Cranford, New Jersey for almost 40 years. She graduated from Bloomfield College with a degree in Nursing, earned a Master of Science Degree in Public Health from Rutgers University, a Wound Ostomy Certificate from Emory University, and was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Society of Nursing. Linda was a public health/visiting registered nurse her entire career and a proud Clinical Nurse Specialist in Home Health who loved caring for people. An active participant in the Cranford community, Linda was a member of the College Woman's Club, First Presbyterian Church of Cranford, Cranford Historical Society, and Floraphile Garden Club. Linda loved reading and enjoyed her monthly book club meetings. She was an example of hard work, determination and love to all who knew her.
We will be celebrating Linda's life as a mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt, and devoted nurse with visitation and life celebration this Friday from 2:00-5:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM March 2nd, at Gray Memorial Funeral Home, 12 Springfield Avenue, Cranford. Her Funeral service will be celebrated at 9:30 AM Saturday, March 3rd, 2018 at the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford, 11 Springfield Avenue, Cranford, NJ, burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery, Westfield, NJ. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the First Presbyterian Church, Cranford, NJ or the College Woman's Club of Cranford.
